Am I the only one kind of freaking out about this swine flu thing? It seems like we've been warned for a while now of a pandemic, is this it? Should I quarantine my kids so they have no chance of being exposed? Should I be at Costco stocking up on food and water? The more I hear about it the worse I feel... but sometimes I have a tendency to panic a little early....am I? Are you feeling threatened?

Sunshine
We have been taking full advantage of this weather! We spent some time working with my parents in their yard on Monday, played outside in the pool, at the park, and visited Sonic on Tuesday and worked on Declan's bike skills and went to the park (twice) today.
He's almost got the bike thing down...as long as there is a 0% incline!
Hanging out watching Declan ride his bike! Doesn't she look so cute in her little church outfit!
Create
Lately I've been obsessed with making things... new recipes from scratch, sewing projects, working on the kids scrapbooks...anything! Here are a few of the latest...
This cute little pillowcase dress and headband for the little lady. I think she may need a lil' shirt underneath but I couldn't wait to try it on her! I also made one of these for my little niece for her 3rd birthday. They are easy and pretty cute!

A cute nursing cover for my prego sister in law. (I am 99% sure she doesn't read my blog...and Amy if you do...hope you like the fabric!)

This will be the cake for Delaney's first birthday party. The frosting job looked a little fancy so I thought I would try it. Of course, since Delaney is a princess we had to have a "cake testing" before the big day! Don't think this made from scratch "Tender Lemon Cake" is worth it since she probably won't get too far into it but I just love the ruffles!

Sweet Thing!
I can't believe that my baby is turning one next month! She is changing so fast! I thought I better take a minute to remember the things she is doing at 11 months. She still has only the two bottom teeth. She is so close to walking. She moves pretty fast holding onto the furniture and is now getting daring enough to try and stand without holding onto anything and sometimes even take a step or two before falling! She loves to climb up the stairs and notices instantly if the gate is not up. She is such a Mama's girl- in a bad, really extreme kind of way. The last couple of days have been rough but maybe it is because I changed her schedule?? She is still nursing and maybe she knows my countdown to cutting her off has begun! Or maybe she's cutting a tooth? Who really knows, right? She says Mama but I'm not sure if it's for me or just making that ma-ma-ma sound. She loves to watch Declan but if he gets to close she lets out a good scream and can get him in trouble pretty easily! The two of them can actually play together really well and Declan really is sweet with her. She can wave and it's so cute because she turns her hand so she can see her palm when her fingers are opening and closing. I've been doing sign language with her like I did with Declan and she has started signing back a little bit, mostly the sign for milk. She loves baths. She loves to eat real food and she loves finger food. She loves to get kisses but she's slow to give kisses. She is so sweet and so cute and so good for our family.
"Dying" Easter Eggs
In between everything else we had going on this weekend we squeezed in coloring our Easter eggs. Being the 3 year old he is Declan was concerned that we were "dying" Easter eggs- he didn't want them to be dead. At one point when he had a drop of dye on his finger he said, "my finger is dead." Pretty hilarious. It was really fun. I am way to into coloring eggs and may have been a little OCD a few times but we made it through with some cute eggs and a smiling little boy- that must mean success.
Easter Dinner with the Schraders
My Dad
My Papa, my little cousin- Marek
The Ladies and The Guys
We had a nice traditional Easter dinner with my Mom's side of the family on Saturday night. It was the first time in years that all of my Mom's siblings were in the same place at the same time. Of course- the family just wasn't complete without my sister but I'll take what I can get!!

Silly Faces
Haven't had two posts in one week in a looooooooong time! And I also forgot to share a story that Declan reminded me of from our Utah trip! We were swimming in our hotel pool- there was one other family there with like 5 kids. Me and Delaney had just gotten out and were drying off. Declan was walking around the pool to take one of the other boys a pool toy when all of the sudden he's in the pool head first with his little feet kicking in the air. I hollered at Jason "HURRY!!" (and of course he was but you can't run fast in water and as the mother and the onlooker he couldn't have been fast enough anyway!). Of course Declan is fine and was fine even right after it happened. He wasn't scared of the water at all. The whole thing lasted like 30 seconds but it was freaky! I must have acted a little hysterical or somethin cuz the other mom came over and told me that kids have some reflex that takes over and makes it so they don't breath for like 30 seconds in a moment like that. She would know too- her 4 year old was swimming by himself in the deep end- but it was ScArY!
Anyway, my little niece Brooke came over to play with Declan for a few hours today. We made some Easter Egg Nests, colored, played a few games, made silly faces and giggled a lot. Declan had a blast. He was so freakin excited to have her come over. He loves Brookie so much! And now- onto the fun filled, super busy weekend ahead!

Last Minute Trip to Utah!
A couple of weekends ago we made a spur of the moment trip to Utah for our anniversary and to surprise my sister for her 21st birthday! We left the morning of a blizzard determined to make it out- and we did!
Even though it isn't the best picture of either of them I just had to throw this one in of the two of them holding hands! So sweet!
Declan is such a character! He never can just smile for the camera- there is always some weird pose involved!
While we were there we had lots of family to see. This was Delaney's first opportunity to meet my great Grandpa Judd. When I asked Declan if he remembered him he said "I want to go see his long ears"- he's definitely remembering the right Grandpa! My kids are the first great great grand kids on my Granny's side. I love to see my Great Grandpa. I would love to hear all the stories that he has to tell but he is one of those guys who would rather watch it all happening around him. He really liked seeing my kids.
On the way back to Denver, we stopped in Palisade and had a meal with my Granny and Papa. Delaney was being a party pooper and would hardly let my Granny hold her.
Since we've been back we've been keepin busy- going to the zoo, going to the park, painting, cooking with friends- all that good stuff! This past weekend we also watched conference. This was the first time in my entire life I have ever watched either of the Saturday sessions. It felt so good to listen and hear all the talks! I really liked the one on provident living, I think it was Elder Hales on Saturday morning, I keep trying to remind myself of his words we need to be "joyfully living within our means."
