Happy Easter!

Later in the day we went and celebrated with my Aunt's family in Parker. The kids did a little Easter egg hunt there too! The picture of the three of them was when we were trying to teach them the hot/cold game to find the last egg. After that we went to Jason's parents and had another egg hunt. By this time Declan had it down...only difference was these eggs were full of candy (my family uses hard-boiled eggs) and it didn't take him long to figure that out! We had a really nice day spending time with our families.

The Easter bunny was good to Declan this year! In his basket was some bathtub crayons, a pez egg thing, some HotWheels, jelly beans, a Horton stuffed elephant and a book about trucks! The first thing he got out of his basket was a jellybean- he never has a whole bunch of candy in his control like that. He also liked looking for the eggs that the Easter bunny hid for him.

Declan had so much fun coloring easter eggs on Saturday night! Jason cut the sleeves off of one of his old shirts for Declan to wear and Declan thought that was awesome! It was an interesting experience letting a 2-year old dye eggs. The first one he dropped into the cup from a couple of inches up and there was a small blue egg dye splash which luckily didn't make it to the carpet! He wanted to do it all on his own. He was so proud of the eggs when we were done!

I bought Declan some watercolor paints last week and he loves them. My sister got a kick out of me because I was having an OCD moment. Declan would dip his brush in the water and then mix all the colors up so every color looked like black or brown. To him it was perfectly normal. I would patiently clean them up and he would do the same thing every time. I think he has to touch the black paint before he can use any other color- I know it doesn't really matter but that day I just could not take it!

I love teaching Declan to bake and he loves-LOVES helping me make things!! He especially likes to crack the eggs and be my little taste tester!

50 Things about me...

I think this will be kind of fun and challenging...50 little factoids about me, here it goes:

1. In high school I had crayon red streaks in my hair and I still think it looked pretty good- sometimes I even consider doing it again.

2. I also had it purple once.

3. I always wanted to be a Mommy.

4. I love chocolate and I eat some every day more by habit than anything.

5. My sister and my mom are two of my best friends.

6. I still sleep with my baby blanket. It is pink and held together literally by threads but when Jason is gone or I am sad it brings me comfort.

7. My middle name is June after my great grandmother on my mom's side.

8. I get scared so easily. If Jason makes funny faces at me in the dark I get scared. He doesn't do that anymore...I think maybe he is sick of his wimpy wife being scared of everything.

9. I hate walking up the stairs in the dark.

10. My dad is Hispanic and he calls me and my sister his "half-breeds".

11. I love to bake and cook.

12. Along with #11, I am always trying to re-create things I have at restaurants. I got pretty close to the Cafe Rio salad and the next thing to try is Chili's Molten Chocolate Lava Cake.

13. Someday I want to be in a tri-athalon.

14. I've tipped over a couple of porta-potties in my time.

15. I am deathly afraid of heights. My first year of Girls Camp we were supposed to climb this thing and I couldn't do it. I tried and I think I probably made it 6 feet up.

16. In high school I wrote a very opinionated letter in the school newspaper about how we had to pay $$ to park in a dirt parking lot and they marked up thinks like cup-of-noodles and cosmic brownies but there was plenty of money to build a new gym.

17. My letter angered one of the lunch ladies and she tried to ban me from the cafeteria. My family still laughs about this.

18. We went back several times a day just to prove she couldn't do a thing to me for voicing my opinion.

19. Obviously I am still proud of the letter.

20. I would like to be a morning person. I used to be but Jason works late a lot and he also stays up very late so I try to stay up late with him.

21. I love to eat out. I appreciate it so much more now and it seems like we do it less and less.

22. Some of my fave places to eat are... Chipotle, Cafe Rio, Cheesecake Factory, PeiWei, Inta Juice, WhatKnot, Magelby's Fresh. Geez, maybe I am hungry...

23. I love to scrapbook. My two-and-a-half-year-old has four albums.

24. I love to take pictures.

25. I am double-jointed.

26. I've never broken a bone.

27. I've never had a cavity.

28. If I could, I would wear my sweats everywhere.

29. I am 6'1/2''.

30. I have big feet. I guess that comes with being that tall!

31. I totaled my first car my senior year of high school. My sister was traumatized by this for a long time- probably until she did the same exact thing.

32. Since we have been married I have become a big Nuggets fan.

33. I love fountain drinks. There is a difference- a big difference!

34. I can drive a stick shift...my car after the one I totaled was a stick...they're kind off fun.

35. #33 means I can drive my Dad's corvette when he so graciously lets me. (My sister can't drive stick- love ya!)

36. I love to go see a movie at the theatres. Jason hates it so we don't make it a point to go very often.

37. My b-day is August 13, 1985.

38. Jason and I were married when I was 18.

39. Declan was born 1 month and 7 days after I turned 20 barely eliminating me from the teenage mommy category.

40. I have a hard time getting to know people.

41. I am really good at having a couple of really close friends rather that a gazillion sorta friends.

42. I love to send and receive snail mail. It is so unusual and fun to get a note or something in the mail and it makes me happy so I like to send it to make other people happy.

43. I've lived in CO my whole life and have never been skiing or snowboarding.

44. I am a fish- I absolutely love to be in the water.

45. My whole life feels more organized if my kitchen is clean.

46. I am a car fanatic- I just know things about cars that I think most girls don't know. I really like muscle cars. My favorite is a 69 or 71 Chevelle or Nova. I get this from my Dad.

47. I am stubborn.

48. I am also a worry-wart about a lot of things.

49. I get a kick out of myself. Sometimes I will tell a joke and be the only one laughing and I am okay with that- why?- because I am so dang funny.

50. I like to brag about my little man. He makes me smile everyday! Sometimes he is so naughty and I am so frustrated with him but then I think about all the funny things he does and says and how truly sweet and amazing his personality is and everything is okay. It might help that he is sleeping right now- that also makes everything okay.

I tag anyone who is reading this and has a blog...give me something good to read! Everyone has been super slow on blogging lately so come on-get on it!

The many faces of Declan...

Thanks to my super-talented friend here are some of the cutest pictures of Declan. Declan and Drake were eating lunch and Drake started acting so goofy- Declan was just giggling and then he started being silly too! They had so much fun together! My favorite one is the top one of Declan looking back at the camera with peanut butter and jelly all over his face! The other ones are of the boys playing outside, eating the snow which Drake said tasted like juice! Just lately so many people have been commenting on all of Declan's expressions and these pictures just captured them so perfectly! Thanks Kelli!

Just about the same thing everything else would do. Pay off all of ours and our families debt, give everyone money, build a dream house, drive fancy cars (plural of course), travel to Bora Bora, the Caribbean, Ireland, Australia, EVERYWHERE....hire a personal trainer, have a huge pool in our backyard, spoil my kid(s), have vacation homes, need I go on??

5 pet peeves
Okay, most of my pet peeves have to do with driving- I'm trying to come up with some others...
*People who insist on driving 5 miles under the speed limit
*When people are oblivious to their own kids
*When someone says they are going to do something and they never do it
*When someone has to have it there way to have a good time
*Not getting the dishes done right after dinner

5 things you didn't know about me
*My senior year in high school I was in the high school drag races!
*I can't watch any type of scary movie. I have nightmares just from seeing the previews. Jason will change the channel as soon as one comes on. If I do see one I think about it I scare myself just thinking about it...for months!
*I love to sing. I sing to anything if I know the words...and sometimes if I don't! I don't think I have a good voice so it is usually only in front of Jason and Declan and sometimes my parents and sister.
*I make lists for just about everything. Right now I have a list of things I still have to get done this week, things to get ready before the baby comes...I'm not going to go on because this may be obsessive compulsive...
*I HATE, HATE, HATE being alone.
