It's My Party and I'll Cry If I Want To!

Delaney turned one on May 15th! She woke up so sick on the morning of her big birthday party. She puked a few times and was just not feeling good. Me being the person that I am had a lot to do and a baby that just wanted to be held. Thanks to the help of my family- the party went on! We had Mexican food galore- tamales, green chili, fideo, homemade refried beans, a taco bar, chips, salsa, and the best guacamole ever. Then there were cupcakes- lots of them- Pineapple upside down cupcakes, chocolate cupcakes, vanilla cupcakes and lemon cupcakes (I was feeling ambitious the day before and made them all from scratch!!). There was lots of family and some friends, a broken elbow (my poor niece Amber), a baby that almost fell asleep eating her cake and some parents who with the chaos of it all forgot to give their baby the present they got her (oops!). With all of that I hardly took any pictures- and I am kicking myself for it. Happy Birthday Little Miss!

She got her present from us later that night when we realized we'd forgotten!

She was so exhausted after the party that she crawled over and fell asleep on her blankie, I think I could have been right there with her!

Who Will It Be??

The first three people to leave a comment on this post will receive something made by me. However, there are some limitations:

1. I make no guarantee that you will like what I make.
2. What I create will be just for you.
3. It will be done this year.
4. You have no clue what it is going to be - cards, bows, a bag, frame or a little invention of my own. I may bake something and mail it to you . Who knows? Not you that's for sure!
5. I reserve the right to do something extremely strange. It may blow your mind!

Here's the catch, if you choose to do this. You must post this on your blog and be ready to make something for three people too. This will be fun! When you receive the fabulous item I make you, you must post a picture of it on your blog. Now time to comment and start thinking about what you will be making for someone else! ;)

Loving it!

Delaney is so close to walking on her own! She is getting pretty steady and I am just loving watching Declan help her walk. He goes a little too fast sometimes but something about it just really gets to me. They play so well together right now and that makes me so happy! I can't wait to see when she actually takes off!

29 (and a tear)

Jason turned 29 yesterday. What a sad day for him. Only one more year of his twenties. See that- only one candle on the cake because you can't light 29 and still have the first one burning....

Okay so maybe he is not sad but I do get a kick out of reminding him how old that sounds. Okay so maybe I just offended half of you but if you are offended then you must be feeling a little old as well. Don't worry they say 30 is the new 20. Okay I just made that up....

Anyway- he had his birthday off from both of his jobs so he actually got to sleep in which may have been the happiest part of his b-day! He then woke up to a few of his favorite things...Santiago's breakfast burritos, a ginormous Mountain Dew and a Caramello bar. We had Chinese take-out with my parents (another one of his favorites) for dinner and of course chocolate cake. Not too exciting but I think he enjoyed it!

Happy Birthday Babe!

Goin to the playoffs!

Tuesday night we got the chance to go the the Nuggets game- game 2 of round 2 of the playoffs. (I have no idea if I said that the "right" way!) It was a really exciting game. Of course, we won but we gave them a good workout. It was Declan's first Nuggets game. The game wasn't until 8:30p so both kids were pretty exhausted! Delaney even slept through the loudest and most exciting part of the game!

Finally...

Finally I found some cool looking & appropriate graffiti (if you can even call it that) to take some pictures of. I had seen some ideas on another photographers blog and was waiting for the right thing to appear- and it did! It was amazing and huge and even though the pics didn't turn out like what I saw in my head I still think they are pretty cool!

Feeding the Ducks.

Declan had his first duck feeding experience last week. And of course at none other than Webster Lake- where else would one go to feed ducks?? I have so many memories of doing the same thing at the same place growing up. They are greedy little suckers- the ducks that is....they seemed kinda mean. A few of them actually were brave enough to steal the bread right out of the kids hands! Declan seemed to enjoy it though...I think he thought the point was to hit the ducks with the little pieces of bread (that makes me laugh pretty hard just thinking about it- in a non-animal abuse type of way of course).
